Why not one database per customer on Atlas?
Every Atlas cluster is always on, so a sleeping customer costs as much as an active one. Platforms end up sharing a few large clusters and lose per-customer restore, deletion and isolation.
What about Firestore or Cosmos DB with MongoDB compatibility?
Both are serverless, but cap the number of databases per project or account and run on one cloud only. FENVIX is built for tens of thousands of databases, on the cloud you choose.
How fast does a sleeping database answer?
It wakes on the first request and reads its files from cloud storage. Keep your busiest customers awake if they need every millisecond.
Can I lose data if a server crashes?
A write is acknowledged only once it is stored durably. In our tests, 40 forced kills lost no acknowledged write.
Is this MongoDB?
No. FENVIX is its own database engine on object storage. It speaks the MongoDB protocol, so MongoDB drivers and tools connect to it.
